How do I accept credit cards?
To be able to accept credit cards online you must either:
1. have a bank merchant account. If you don't already have a merchant account, you can do this through the major UK banks. They will help you set up a merchant account that accepts Switch, VISA and Mastercard. You may have to deal separately with the individual institutions which run American Express and Diners Club.
2. use an online payment solution such as PayPal. This is our recommended option as there are no setup charges, monthly charges, or gateway fees. You simply pay as you go (approx 1.1% + £0.30 UKP per transaction).
